Roland-RP Series
Browse our RangeA Traditional Upright Piano experience at a fraction of the cost.
The Roland RP Series are Digital Pianos specifically designed to offer an affordable solution to having an acoustic Upright Piano in your home, without disturbing the neighbours. The RP Piano Series has been designed with a traditional looking cabinet, individually gradually weighted keys and a speaker system that is housed with the cabinet itself.
The Roland RP Series has been incredibly popular with beginners, intermediate and advanced pianists alike, as the traditional aesthetic, realistic sound/feel and great features make them a fantastic Digital Piano for the money.
The Range:
RP701 | RP102
Each model within the Roland RP Digital Piano Series come with an extended warranty with Roland when registered with Roland Backstage.
Two Models, One Great Action
Both the RP701 and RP102 features the immensely popular, PHA-4 piano action. The PHA-4 action features individually weighted ivory-feel keys and escapement.
Powered By Roland SuperNATURAL Piano Sound
Thanks to Roland’s SuperNATURAL sound engine, both the RP701 and RP102 pianos live and breathe just like an acoustic, allowing you to play expressively and dynamically. Partner this with the PHA-4 piano action and the RP Digital Piano Series convinces you that you’re sat at an acoustic piano.
The dynamic range paired with the feel of the action creates a playing experience that is perfect for any standard of a piano player. This partnership between sound and feel encourages use and the learning of “proper” playing techniques. Whether you’re just starting out, a hobbyist or a virtuoso, the RP Series are, quite simply, lovely to play.
Modern Technology
With the RP Series, Roland has ensured that both models are realistic to play and easy to use, adding a host of modern features that were previously unavailable in the Digital Piano market.
One of the most pioneering features of Roland Digital Pianos is the implementation of Bluetooth. By adding Bluetooth MIDI to both RP Series models, you can connect your Roland Digital Piano to any compatible Bluetooth Smart Device, whether that’s Android or iOS.
With Bluetooth MIDI, you can seamlessly integrate your RP Series piano into your home studio setup, where you can control soft synths and alternative instruments in your DAW, wirelessly. You can also use Bluetooth MIDI to communicate with compatible Apps on your Smart Device.
With the RP102, you can access rhythms, control and edit the settings of the piano, as well as display sheet music for the inbuilt songs, by wirelessly connecting to the free Roland Piano Partner 2 App. You can even turn the pages of the digital manuscript with the triple pedal unit that comes as standard for each RP Digital Piano, whilst keeping their classic functions simultaneously (Soft, Sostenuto and Damper).
The RP701 is compatible with the upgraded Roland Piano Every Day App, which adds further capabilities to a Roland Digital Piano. With Piano Every Day, users can keep a diary of their playing, receive practice reminders and never lose a moment of inspiration with automatic recording. Additionally, you can use the One Week Master Programme to challenge yourself to learn one song over 7 days, where you will receive daily lessons to reach your goal. If you want to learn more songs than what is included within the RP701, Piano Every Day integrates with Sheet Music Direct, the world’s largest library of digital manuscript. The RP701 goes a step further, featuring Bluetooth Audio, which enables wireless audio stream from your favourite Smart Device.
Each model has an inbuilt USB MIDI interface, allowing you to control soft synths and alternative instruments you may have on your DAW. This is an essential feature for the modern musician, as Home Recording has become such an invaluable skill for anyone that creates music.
A Classic Aesthetic
As mentioned above, the Roland RP Series is specifically designed for individuals that love the presence of an Acoustic Piano, whilst also needing the numerous benefits of a Digital Instrument.
Housed in a compact Spinet style cabinet, both the RP701 and RP102 achieve the looks of a beautiful upright piano. The RP701 is even finished in a Real Wood Veneer, has a one-piece wooden top and features curved front legs for a slightly more premium look. The RP701 is also available in alternative finishes; Contemporary Black, White, Light Oak and Dark Rosewood.

Easy To Build
Both the RP Series models are delivered in one box and require assembly. Luckily, Roland has made these pianos easier to build than the large majority of flat-packed furniture. Check out this video to see how easy it really is! The video is on the RP701, however, the RP102 follows a very similar process.
For users who require a piano with a slightly smaller footprint, check out the F701 Slimline Piano, which offers the same features as the RP701.
